Mary Jo Guest

Mrs. Mary Jo Guest, 62 of Atlanta, Michigan died peacefully surrounded by the love of her family at her home on January 14, 2021. She was born in St. Pete, Florida on January 1, 1959 to the late, Robert Lucal and Murl (Brown- Lucal) Marlatt. She resided in Atlanta all of her life. She married her husband, David Guest on August 7, 1976 and together the couple celebrated 44years of marriage before her passing. She spent a majority of her career in the banking and investment industry.   Mary Jo was a member of the Atlanta Eagles, the Order of the Eastern Star, and the Atlanta Congregational Church. Mary Jo served on the State of Michigan Foster Care review board for over 10 years and also worked as the secretary for the Montmorency County Fair Board. One of her favorite hobbies was to go boating and she was a member of the BBOYC yacht club. She also enjoyed  cooking, and entertaining others,  but most importantly, valued the time she spent with her family. She will be deeply missed.

Mary Jo is survived by her loving husband, David Guest of Atlanta; daughter, Rachel (Tyler) Reid of Midland; son, Brian (Nicole) Guest of Freeland; granddaughter, Halle; her loving goldendoodle Bailey; brother, Robert Lucal of Wolverine; brother, Dave (Lisa) Marlatt ; father, Ray (Sharon) Marlatt; Denny (Jone) Guest  brother-in-law, sister-in-law, Julie Kendrick all of Atlanta: and  Tim (Laura) Guest of Wasilla, Alaska. She was preceded in death by her parents, Robert Lucal and Murl Marlatt; grandparents, Charlie and Stella Luella Brown; and Joseph and Mary Ellen Lucal.

Funeral services for Mrs. Guest will take place at 2:00 PM on Wednesday, January 20, 2021 at Green Funeral Home, Atlanta. Visitation will take place from noon until time of service. The funeral service will be for immediate family only as we are limited to 25 people per the executive order that is still in place. A celebration of life gathering will also be held in Mary Jo's honor in the summer. In lieu of flowers, donations are suggested to the charity of your choice in memory of Mary Jo.
