Maryann Coursey

Maryann Coursey, 89 years of age, passed peacefully on Friday, September 24, 2021, at her home in Lewiston Michigan, surrounded by her loved ones.

Maryann was born on December 25, 1931, in Detroit, Michigan.  She was the only child of Anna Katherine Durst and William Frederick Belack.

Maryann was married to the late Donald "Dean" Coursey who passed away in 2014.  Maryann professed her life to Christ at an early age.  She and her husband Dean pastored side by side at multiple churches in many states for over 50 years.

Maryann and Dean's children, Elizabeth Epstein (Coursey) and husband Bernie of California, Jeffrey Coursey and wife Teresa of Michigan, DeAnna Coursey of Michigan, and Kim Sutton of Michigan.  She has 8 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews and cousins and extended family that are dear to her heart.

Maryann was a lover of music her entire life.  She began to sing at the age of 2 1/2 on different radio broadcast stations in Detroit and traveled in her early teens singing.  She was an Organist, Pianist and Choir director.  She also loved to cook and entertain for family and friends.  She often would send meals to neighbors just because.  She loved all sports.  She had many hobbies which included reading, knitting, crocheting, baking, and collecting dolls, owls, and other numerous items.  She loved Holidays and spending time with her children, grandchildren, and friends.  She also enjoyed the times with her best friends Maryann, Lori and Mary.

Most importantly was the love she had for her family and friends and church family and devotion to the Lord which projected in her daily life and the love she had for people.

A Special thank you to her Hospice Nurse Brittney for being such a compassionate nurse and all the wonderful help we received from Hospice of Michigan.  Maryann requested that any contributions be sent to Hospice of Michigan.

Visitation Tuesday September 28, 2021 at Noon until service at 3:00 p.m at Green Funeral Home in Lewiston, Michigan.
