Mary Jean Pillsbury, 92, of Alpena, formerly of Hillman, Michigan, passed away on March 4, 2020 at Sally's Care Home in Alpena. She was born on May 14, 1927 to Bartl and Agatha (Boch) Paul in Arenzville, Illinois. She married Loyd Pillsbury on August 19, 1951 in Rust Twp, Michigan. Mary was on bowling leagues over the years and bowled the highest game ever scored at the Hillman Bowling Alley. She also enjoyed horseshoes and BINGO. She was quite a musician, who passed her love for singing and the guitar down to her son. Mary always enjoyed time spent with family and friends, and will be dearly missed.
Mary is survived by her daughter Mavis (Tom VanDuinen) DesRocher of Alpena, MI; son, Greg (Susan) Pillsbury of Gaylord, MI; grandchildren, Linde Millsaps, Leah Pillsbury, Katie Pillsbury, and Jamie Prahl; great grandchildren, Tyler, Trevor, Karson, Keaton, Eliza, Cooper, Levi, and Wesley. She was preceded in death by her parents, Bartl and Agatha Paul; husband, Loyd Pillsbury; companion, James "Woody" Woodrow; and nine brothers and sisters.
In accordance with her wishes, cremation has taken place and Mary will be laid to rest in the Spring in the Hillman/Rust Township cemetery.
