Mary Ghainer

Mrs. Mary Jane Ghainer, 79 of Lewiston, Michigan passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family on March 4, 2022 at Munson Healthcare Grayling Hospital. She was born in Milwaukee, Wisconsin on May 25, 1942 to the late, Elmer and Eleanor (Neuber) Kurth. She married her husband, Richard Ghainer on June 29, 1963 and together the couple celebrated 58 years together before her passing. They have resided in Lewiston since 1998. Mary was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Gaylord. She was an avid reader and enjoyed making handmade greeting cards. Family was her number one priority, and she would selflessly put everyone above herself. She will be deeply missed.

Mary is survived by her husband, Richard Ghainer of Lewiston; children, Laura ( Dr. John) Hoye of Jackson; Stephen Ghainer of Lansing; Jeffrey Ghainer of Fairview; grandson, Christopher (Kailey) Hoye of Jackson; brother, MGYSGT. William Kurth of Milwaukee, Wisconsin; sister-in-law, Sylvia Ghainer of Lewiston; nieces and nephews, Dawn (Tim) Frieseke; Anthony (Angie) Kurth; William Jr. (Jeannie) Kurth; and Adrienne Kurth, great nephew Jonathon and great niece Sophia, all of Milwaukee, Wisconsin. She was preceded in death by her parents, Elmer and Eleanor Kurth; and sister-in-law, Susie Kurth.

Funeral services for Mary will be at noon on Friday, March 11, 2022 at Green Funeral Home, Lewiston. Visitation will take place from 10:00 AM until time of service. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Wellspring Lutheran Services, 1390 Maple Dr., Fairview, MI 48621. Arrangements were entrusted to Green Funeral Home.
