Mary Barton

Mrs. Mary Magdalene Barton, 81 of Atlanta, Michigan died peacefully on August 21, 2020 at MidMichigan Medical Center in Alpena. She was born on October 21, 1938 in Genoa, West Virginia to the late, Culley and Vinia (Selva) Webb. She married her husband, Jackson Earl Barton on September 29, 1956 and together the couple celebrated 63 years of marriage before her passing. Formerly of Washington, Michigan they have resided in Atlanta since 1989. Mary had a gift for growing plants and flowers and she loved to garden. She enjoyed going to garage sales and treasure hunting. The items that she collected were referred to as her "pretties." Above everything, Mary valued the time she was able to spend with her grandchildren. She will be deeply missed.

Mary is survived by her loving husband, Jackson Barton of Atlanta; children, John Barton of Atlanta; Scott (Tammy) Barton of Fairfield, California; Pauline (Steve) Docherty of Atlanta; Tom (Kim) Barton of Attica; Bryan (Melanie) Barton of Casco; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren; brothers, Jack Webb of Kenova, West Virginia; and Elwood Webb of Clinton Township. She was preceded in death by her parents, Culley and Vinia Webb; son, Dan; daughter, Kathleen "Kate;" brother, Alvis; and sister, Judy.

Funeral services for Mrs. Barton will take place at 1:00 PM on Saturday, August 29, 2020 at Green Funeral Home, Atlanta; Pastor Dave Fisher officiating. Visitation will take place from 11:00 AM until time of service. Mary will be laid to rest at Briley Township Cemetery.
