Mary Banks

Mary Elizabeth Banks Mrs. Mary Elizabeth Banks, 72 of Hillman, Michigan passed away at her home surrounded by loved ones on November 4, 2013. She was born in Pontiac, Michigan to the late, James and Betty (Lyons) Belisle on September 6, 1941. She married husband, Thomas Banks on November 10, 1962 in Pontiac and together they raised a family, moving in 1966 to the Hillman area. She was a member of the St. Augustine Catholic Church and also served as the Rust Township clerk for over 20 years. Mary was a medical first responder and served on the Hillman Rust Ambulance Board. She was actively involved in the Rust Township Ladies Auxiliary. She was an avid reader, enjoyed crocheting and needle point, and kept her grandchildren as her number one priority. Mary will be greatly missed by all who knew her and loved her. She is survived by loving husband of fifty years, Thomas Banks of Hillman; son, Tom (Debbie) Banks of Hillman; daughters, Tricia (Scott) Everett of Ortonville; Debbie (Jim) Mangutz of Mio; Dawn (Jim) Smith of Traverse City; thirteen grandchildren; brother, David Belisle of Fenton; and sisters, Kathy (Carl) Williams of Mancelona; Ann Reid of Hillman; and Virginia (Gene) Christian of Ortonville. She was preceded in death by her parents, James and Betty Belisle. Funeral services for Mrs. Banks will be held at 10AM on Friday, November 8, 2013 at the St. Augustine Catholic Church; Hillman, Michigan; Fr. Rolando Silva officiating. Visitation will take place at the church on Thursday, November 7, 2013 from 5:00PM until 8:00PM with a prayer service at 7:00PM. Interment will take place at St. Augustine Catholic Cemetery at 1:00PM. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Hospice of Sunrise Shore.
