Martha "Gia" Burling Martha "Gia" Burling, 70, of Atlanta, passed away on March 19, 2008 at Otsego Memorial Hospital in Gaylord. She was born on January 24, 1938 to Harold and Margarite (Ball) Smith in Pontiac, MI. She married Billy Burling on October 22, 1960 at St Vincent DePaul Catholic Church in Pontiac, MI. She has lived in Loud Twp for the past 15 yrs formerly of Waterford, MI. She attended the Catholic Church throughout her life. She was a member of the Montmorency County Fair Board for many years, was active on the Tri Twp Ambulance Board, and served two terms as Loud Twp Trustee. Gia is survived by her husband, Bill of Atlanta, MI; daughters, Holly (Ed) Shear of Gaylord, MI, and Annette Burling of Auburn Hills, MI; son, Brian Burling of Keego Harbor, MI; 7 grandchildren; 3 great grandchildren with one more on the way; brother, Tom (Olie) Smith of Florida; sister, Linda (Don) Grice of Auburn Hills, MI; and nieces and nephew, Don, Lisa, and Stacy. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday, March 24, 2008 at Jesus the Good Shepherd Catholic Church, Fr Vianney Sipulski OFM officiating. Visitation hours will be held on Sunday, from 7-9 p.m. and again Monday morning from 9:00 until 10:30 a.m. at the funeral home.
