Mark Kinney

Mr. Mark Woodrow Kinney, 76 of Atlanta, Michigan died suddenly at his home on September 17, 2021. He was born in Atlanta, Michigan on May 8, 1945 to the late, Ellsworth and Zelona (Faircloth) Kinney. He married his wife, Linda (Bowman) Kinney on September 4, 1965 and together the couple celebrated 56 years of marriage before his passing. Mark was born and raised in Atlanta and resided there all his life. He enjoyed trapping, hunting, guiding for elk, fishing, and attending auction sales. Every year he would go to the Montmorency County 4H Fair to visit with old friends and to purchase an animal from the auction. Most importantly, Mark loved the time that he was able to spend with his grandchildren. He leaves behind countless memories, infinite laughs, and a family that loved him dearly.

Mark is survived by his loving wife, Linda Kinney of Atlanta; daughters, Beverly (Joseph) Weaver; Karen Kendrick; Carol (Doug) Baker all of Atlanta; grandchildren, Sarah (Jordan) Popour; Rachael (Micah) Doyle; Gregory Teets; Jake (Maggie Wells) Sherbonda; Jered (Marziah) Teets; Kayla (Doug) Wilderman; Mitchell Morgan; Seth (Jenna) Teets; Mark (Brianna Webster) Durocher; Brett (Halle Armock) Durocher; Tucker Kendrick; great-grandchildren, Grace, Jonah, Anastasia, Lincoln, Holden, and one on the way; siblings, Frank Kinney of Hillman; Don Kinney of Atlanta; and Diane (Will) Murray of Bay City. He was preceded in death by his parents, Ellsworth and Zelona Kinney; sisters, Barbara Stiles; Linda Ferguson; son, Gregory Lee; and granddaughter, Julia Teets.

In accordance with his wishes cremation has taken place. There will be a memorial held in celebration of Mark's life at 1:00 PM on Thursday, September 23, 2021 at Green Funeral Home, Atlanta; Pastor Roger Steele officiating. Visitation will take place from 11:00 AM until time of service.
