Mark Douglas Jacques Mark Douglas Jacques, 59 of Alpena, passed away on December 13,2010 at his residence. He was born on July 3, 1951 to Merle and Nora (Dahlke) Jacques in Bay City, MI. He attended Handy High School and later graduated from Delta College with an associate's degree in liberal arts. He also served in the U.S. Navy during the Vietnam Era and was stationed in Norfolk, VA aboard the USS Plymouth Rock He married Betty Marie Tryon in December of 1990 and together they had five children. In 1991 they opened the Jacques Family Restaurant. He was an avid fisherman and spend a lot of his time fishing on Long Lake. He loved to travel and would often take trips to warm places during the cold winters. Mark is survived by his wife, Betty of Alpena, MI; sons, Douglas (Kerri) Copeland of Linden, MI; Justen (Trina) Jacques of Alpena, MI; daughters, Jennifer (Phil) Friday of Atlanta, GA; Tonya (Chris) Geister of Hillman, MI; and Becky (Ryan) Lincoln of Midland, MI as well as thirteen grandchildren. As were his wishes, cremation has taken place and a memorial service will be held for Mr. Jacques at the Green Funeral Home, Hillman, on Saturday, December 18, 2010 at 1:00 PM, Pastor Jack Johnston officiating, with visitation from 11:00 AM until time of service.
