Marion Barnes

Marion Jeannette Barnes Mrs. Marion Jeannette Barnes, 88 of Hillman, Michigan died peacefully on October 25, 2015 at MediLodge. She was born to the late, Irvin and Pearl (Crocker) Burgess on July 10, 1927 in Flint, Michigan. She married her husband, Bert Barnes on May 12, 1945 and together they celebrated over 60 years of marriage before his passing in 2006. She moved to Hillman in February of 1999 and attended New Beginnings Ministries. Marion was a past member of the Pythian Sisters and enjoyed quilting, knitting, crocheting, and arts and crafts. She was an avid bowler, although not very good, she loved the time spent with her friends. Marion also enjoyed the outdoors and loved to fish and go camping. She will be dearly missed. She is survived by her son, Ernest (Alva) Barnes of Hillman; sister, Delores Cooper of Birch Run; nine grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, Irvin and Pearl Burgess; husband, Bert Barnes; daughter, Jeannette Barnes; sister, Dora Burgess; and brother, Joe Burgess. As were her wishes, cremation has taken place and there will be a memorial held in celebration of her life at 1:00PM on Wednesday, November 4, 2015 at New Beginnings Ministries; Hillman. In lieu of flowers the family has suggested memorials be made to the New Beginnings Ministries Endowment Fund.
