Margareta "Marge" Agatha Hermanson Mrs. Margareta "Marge" Agatha Hermanson, 82 of Lewiston, Michigan passed away suddenly on August 24, 2013. She was born in Germany on January 13, 1931 to George and Maria (Linder) Sommer. On March 24, 1956 in Heidelberg, Germany she married the man she would spend the next 53 years of her life with, Richard Hermanson. Marge, along with Richard, started the non-profit organization, Lewiston Community Sharing, over 30 years ago. She served as director and CEO of the organization and was very instrumental with her work helping countless families in the Lewiston community when they needed it most. She was a member and past president of the VFW Ladies Auxiliary, Lewiston Congregational United Church of Christ; and she also served on the board of directors for the Department of Social Services for the Montmorency, Oscoda, and Alpena area. Marge enjoyed casino trips and loved to read. She was an avid collector of birds, butterflies, and broaches. Her most treasured asset was her husband, Richard, her family, and her strong need to help others. Marge stood as a pillar to the community of Lewiston and will be greatly missed. She is survived by son, Steve Hermanson of Los Angeles, California; daughters, Jeanne (Michael) Tucker of Troy, North Carolina; Shirley (Kevin) Nivison of Plymouth, Minnesota; grandchildren, Charles, Margareta, Johanna, and Rhett; great-grandchildren, Joseph, Dustin, and Abbi; brothers, Kurt Sommer and Fritz (Helke) Sommer both of Germany; and sisters, Helga (Darrel) Hagen of Hoffman, Minnesota; and Annemarie Minnick of Weatherly, Pennsylvania. She was preceded in death husband, Richard Hermanson; and son, Ronald Hermanson. As were her wishes, cremation has taken place and there will be a memorial held in celebration of her life at 11:00AM on Wednesday, September 4, 2013 at the Green Funeral Home; Lewiston, Michigan.; Fr. Santiago Hoyumpa officiating. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Lewiston Community Sharing Building Fund.
