Margaret Thayer

Margaret Rosaline Thayer Margaret Rosaline Thayer, 78, of Atlanta, MI, passed away on October 26, 2011 at MediLodge of Hillman. She was born on November 3, 1932 in Milford, MI to Chester and Lydia (Diehr) Sleep. Margaret served her country in the US Air Force. She worked as a nurse for 30 plus years, at both the VA Hospital and different nursing homes in the Ann Arbor area. She has lived in Atlanta MI since 1998 formerly of Pinckney, MI. She was a member of the Atlanta Bible Church. She was also an active member of the DAV for many years. She enjoyed writing poetry and has had a few of her poems published. She loved nature and the outdoors. Margaret is survived by her daughters, Valerie (Gordon) Miller of North Branch, MI, Kathleen Kenyon of Atlanta, MI, and Bobbie (Frank) Roe of Weidman, MI; numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great great grandchildren; brother, Gerald (June) Sleep of Fenton, MI; and sisters, Freida Jagger of Detroit, MI, and Dawn (Larry) Freeman of Highland, MI. She was preceded in death by her husband James Earl Thayer, sister Ellen Adams, and a brother Ronald Sleep. Funeral services for Mrs Thayer will be held on Friday October 28, 2011 at 11:00 AM at the Atlanta Bible Church, Pastor Roger Steele officiating. Interment will take place at Esmond Evergreen Cemetery, Hale, MI. Visitation hours will be held on Thursday from 5-9 PM at the Green Funeral Home, Atlanta, MI and again from 10:00 AM on Friday until time of service at the Church.
