Mae Marie Pynnonen Mrs, Mae Marie Pynnonen, 94, of Lewiston, MI, passed away at the Holland Hospice House in Holland, MI on January 5, 2012. She was born on July 2, 1917 to Newton and Bertha Cahoon in Council Bluffs, Iowa. She married Osmo Pynnonen on November 5, 1936. She was a member of the Congregational United Church of Christ in Lewiston. She helped caretake for the Garland Estate with her husband for many years, and also worked on the Albert Twp Election Board for many years as well. She loved to take care of kids, and ran the nursery at her church for many years. She enjoyed hunting and fishing with her son over the years. She loved to bake bread, and was renowned in Lewiston and with all her family for it. Mae is survived by her son, Wayne (Linda) Pynnonen of West Olive, MI; grandchildren, Brett (Melissa) Pynnonen, Tasha (David) Farmer, and Tonya (Matt) Bramer; and great-grandchildren, Davinn, Gretchen, Ethan, Alex, and Riley. Funeral services for Mrs Pynnonen will be held on Monday at 1:00 PM at the Congregation of the United Church of Christ, Lewiston, MI, Rev Dr H Robert Case officiating. Visitation will be held on Monday from 11:00 AM until time of service at the church.
Mae is survived by her son, Wayne (Linda) Pynnonen of West Olive, MI; grandchildren, Brett (Melissa) Pynnonen, Tasha (David) Farmer, and Tonya (Matt) Bramer; and great-grandchildren, Davinn, Gretchen, Ethan, Alex, and Riley.
