Louis J. Sanglier Louis J. Sanglier, 88, of Lewiston, MI, passed away on Friday, July 31, 2009 at Otsego Memorial Hospital in Gaylord, MI. He was born on June 28, 1921 to Louis and Myrtle (Wehner) Sanglier in Toledo, OH. He married the former Elizabeth Fountain on November 27, 1943 in Monroe, MI. He served his country in the US Army during WWII, in the H Comp 382nd 96th Infantry known as the "Dead Eyes" in Leyte in the Philipines. He retired from Ford Motor Co in 1980, as a danley press operator after 30 yrs. He also did custodial work at the Peoples Federal Savings Bank, now known as Bank of American, for 12 yrs, and also delivered ice and milk for Sealtest Dairy for a while. He was a life member of the Lewiston VFW Post 6335. He enjoyed working in the yard, especially riding the mower. He enjoyed dining at Ponderosa in Gaylord, and loved to pass around the Monroe Evening News to friends in Lewiston. Louis is survived by his son, Chuck Sanglier of Lewiston; daughter, Karen (Al ) Troutan of Monroe, MI; grandchildren, Terri Blakeman, C. Eddie (Tracy) Blakeman Jr, Sherri (Bill) Suter, Shelly (Shawn) Rodriguez, and Dennis (Lori) Trouten; great grandchildren, Michael and Seth Roy, Amber Hebert, Victoria Winn, Dalton Rodriguez, and Rachel Jennings; great great grandson, Levi Winn; brother, Tom (Diane) Sanglier of Grand Blanc, MI; and sister Margaret (Tim) DiSabatino of Monroe, MI. He was preceded in death by his parents, Louis and Myrtle; wife Betty; brothers, Francis and Kenneth; and a grandchild Anne Blakeman. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, August 6, 2009 at 2:00 PM at the Green Funeral Home, Lewiston MI. Visitation hours will be held on Tuesday from 2-8 PM at the Rupp Funeral Home in Monroe, and then in Lewiston on Thursday from 10:00 AM until time of service. Interment will take place at Albert Twp Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family has suggested memorials to any charity of their choice.
