Lois Zollars

April 17, 1934 — August 9, 2012

Lois Jean Zollars Lois Jean Zollars, 78, of Atlanta Michigan, passed away Thursday August 9, 2012 at the Ausable Valley Nursing Home in Fairview, Michigan, following a six year battle with diabetes. She was born on April 17, 1934 in Wayne Michigan to the late Alonzo (Lonnie) James and Doris (McLeod) Zollars. Lois retired from Arrow Truck Parts in Detroit and moved to downtown Atlanta, where she owned a large farm house on the Thunder Bay River. She was a member of the TOPS organization and always looked forward to their activities and fellowship. Lois enjoyed collecting antiques and decorating her house. She raised African Violets, crocheted afghans and occasionally wrote some poetry. Her bookshelf and record collection were testaments to her love for the "old" Hollywood movies and "Classic" movie music which she immersed herself in whenever she could. She loved to cook and entertain, and was an immaculate house keeper. Lois is survived by one daughter Michelle D. Sedely (Linda Joyce Zollars) of Oxford Michigan. Her brother John W. Zollars of Atlanta. Two nieces, Lendy Jo Zollars of Atlanta, Laura Jean Zollars of Redwood City CA., and a Grand Niece Natalie Rose Rafetto, of San Francisco CA.. Also surviving are Mary Elizabeth Ghist and her sister Rebecca Lynn Ghist of Clearwater, FL who Lois took care of for many years. Affectionately known as " Grandma Lois" she loved them with all her heart and cherished them as if they were her own. As were her wishes, cremation has taken place and no memorial service is scheduled at this time. In lieu of flowers the family has requested a memorial donation to the Ausable Valley Nursing Home Activities Dept. Fairview Mi.
