Lois Elaine Wallis Mrs. Lois Elaine Wallis, 77 of Atlanta, Michigan died peacefully at Otsego Memorial Hospital in Gaylord on the evening of July 18, 2016. She was born to the late, Ed and Katherine (Park) Vissering on December 20, 1938 in Pontiac, Illinois. She married her husband, William Wallis on June 27, 1970 in Romulus and together the couple celebrated 45 years of marriage before her passing. The couple moved to Atlanta in 1973, formerly from Romulus. Lois attended Michigan State University where she obtained her Bachelor's degree in Math as well as a Master's degree in math, chemistry, and physics. She taught in Southgate schools for 20 years and then in Atlanta schools, retiring in 1995. She grew to be a baseball fan along with her husband and spent a month in Lakeland during the Detroit Tigers spring training. She enjoyed to vacation to Eagle River and especially Manistee. Above everything she did, she enjoyed her time spent with family and friends. She will be dearly missed. She is survived by her loving husband, William Wallis of Atlanta; sons, Gregory (Christi) Hoffer of Seattle, Washington; David Hoffer of St. Louis, Missouri; Jeffrey Wallis of Mt. Pleasant; two grandsons, Austin and Ethan; and brother, Duane (Carol) Vissering of Orlando, Florida. She was preceded in death by her parents, Ed and Katherine Vissering. As were her wishes, cremation has taken place and there are currently no services scheduled for Mrs. Wallis at this time.
She is survived by her loving husband, William Wallis of Atlanta; sons, Gregory (Christi) Hoffer of Seattle, Washington; David Hoffer of St. Louis, Missouri; Jeffrey Wallis of Mt.
