Lois Heinbokel

July 3, 1962 — March 4, 2017

Lois Ann Heinbokel Mrs. Lois Ann Heinbokel, 54 of Atlanta, Michigan died peacefully at home surrounded by loved ones on the evening of March 4, 2017. She was born on July 3, 1962 in Lansing, Michigan the daughter of John and Devine (Bergie) Barnes. She resided in Atlanta for the last 40+ years, formerly of Lake City. Lois worked as a prep cook at Kristie's Kountry Kitchen, as well as various other restaurants and the senior center. She enjoyed a variety of hobbies including shopping, family BBQ's in the summer, playing video games with her husband and grandchildren, old country music, spending time at the beach and the lake, and family softball games. Family was number one to Lois and she cherished each moment spent with them. She also loved to look for elk out north of Atlanta and spend time with her dog, Bubba. She will be dearly missed. She is survived by her husband, Ed Godin of Atlanta; sons, John Heinbokel; Eddie (Ashley) Godin; Kyle Godin all of Atlanta; daughters, Amanda Godin of Atlanta; Tina (Clyde) Knaggs of Atlanta; Danielle (Austin Blair) Godin of Mio; Shyanne Simpson of Hillman; stepchildren, Donald (Andrea) Edward Jr Godin of Ann Arbor; Andy (Michelle) Godin of Grawn; Carrie (Darrel) Bowman of Alpena; 16 grandchildren; 3 grand pups, Diesel, Gauge, and Gunner; mother, Devine Barnes of Atlanta; brother, Doug Barnes of Atlanta; sisters, Cindy Barnes of Atlanta; and Loretta (Doug) Heinbokel of Alanson. She was preceded in death by her father, John "Bo Bo" Barnes; brother, Jerry Barnes; and sister, Debbie Kamen. As were her wishes, cremation has taken place and there will be a memorial held in celebration of her life at 2:00PM on Friday, March 10, 2017 at Atlanta Full Gospel Assembly Church. Visitation will take place from 1:00PM until time of service.
