Leslie Read

Mr. Leslie M. Read, 87 of Comins, Michigan died peacefully in his home surrounded by his loving wife in the comfort of their children on August 27, 2021. He was born and raised in South Lyon, Michigan to the late, Albert and Harriet (Driver) Read on May 13, 1934. He married his wife, Lois (Pichler) Read on May 28, 1954 in Milford, Michigan and together the couple celebrated 67 years of marriage before his passing. Formerly of Ruth, Leslie and Lois have resided in Comins since 1990. Leslie was a member and elder of the Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Lewiston and the Good Sam Camping Group. He enjoyed camping, fishing, gardening, watching old Westerns, and hanging trail cams to keep an eye on all the deer and wildlife. Leslie valued the time spent with his family and he leaves them with countless memories. He will be deeply missed.

Leslie is survived by his loving wife, Lois Read of Comins; son, Karl (Brenda) Read of Sparta; daughter, Karen Read of Bad Axe; grandchildren, Joseph (Danielle), Rebecca (Chris), Eric (Ashley), Katelyn; great-grandchildren, Amelia, Madison, Landon, Claire; and one on the way; and sister, Lois Smith of South Lyon. He was preceded in death by his parents, Albert and Harriet Read; and brother, Loren.

Funeral services for Mr. Read will take place at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, September 1, 2021 at the Bethlehem Lutheran Church, Lewiston; Pastor Steven Thiel officiating. Visitation will take place on Tuesday, August 31, 2021 at Green Funeral Home, Lewiston from 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM. Visitation will also take place at the church on Wednesday from 10:00 AM until time of service. Interment will take place at Clinton Township Cemetery, Comins where Leslie will be laid to rest. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Bethlehem Lutheran Church or Heartland Hospice of West Branch.
