Lee David Wheeler Mr. Lee David Wheeler, 71 of Atlanta, Michigan died suddenly on January 2, 2019 at his home. He was born in Providence, Rhode Island on January 30, 1947 to the late, Peter and Gay Gloria (Hryhorka) Wheeler. As a combat medic in the United States Army he served his country proudly during the Vietnam war. Formerly of Indian River, Lee resided in Atlanta for the last 32 years. He owned and operated Gee's Gunworks for many years. He enjoyed being outdoors hunting and fishing, but also enjoyed to relax and watch television. He preferred programs about history and nature, as well as medical programs and Vietnam movies. Above everything, Lee enjoyed his time with family. He was a man that loved to talk and always was full of ideas. He will be dearly missed.
He is survived by his daughter, Alison Sower of Columbia, Missouri; brothers, Don Wheeler of San Jose, California; Kevin Spurlin of Michigan; sister, Linda Bomya of Chicago, Illinois; stepchildren, Karmen Hines of Atlanta; Josh Barnes of White Lake; and grandson, Michael Barnes. He was preceded in death by his parents, Peter and Gay Wheeler; and granddaughter, Destiny Barnes.
As were his wishes cremation has taken place and the family has chosen to remember Mr. Wheeler privately.
