Lawrence Edward Brooks Mr. Lawrence Edward Brooks, 77. of Atlanta, MI died on May 4, 2015 at Otsego Memorial Hospital in Gaylord. He was born on October 25, 1937 to Roy and Margaret (Sherbonda) Brooks in Albert Township, MI. He married the former Joyce Churass on November 20, 1963 at Big Rock Congregational Church in Atlanta, MI. Lawrence has lived in Atlanta all of his life. As a teen, he worked as a pinsetter at the Atlanta bowling alley, then spent his entire working career as a farm hand at Meier's Farms. He loved to hunt, especially turkeys, and his passion was fishing. In his younger years, he was an avid bowler. Above all else he loved time spent with family, especially family vacations together when his children were young. Lawrence is survived by his children, Audrey (Pete) Rhoades of Lewiston, MI, Brenda (Frank) Kethum of Atlanta, Cheryl (Jeffrey) Riddle of Lewiston, Lawrence (Linda) Brooks of Vanderbilt, Jessica Brooks of Atlanta, and Jennifer Brooks of Mio; grandchildren, Edwin Jr, Monica, Daniel, Adelia, Amanda, Christopher, Laura, and Lawrence III; 8 great grandchildren; brothers, Richard Brooks of Atlanta and Gail Brooks of Arizona; and sisters, Rose (Doug) Cheedie of Atlanta, and Kay Young of Illinois. He was preceded in death by his parents, Roy and Margaret, wife, Joyce; brothers, Robert, Clayton, James, and Jerry; and sisters, Ileen Weaver and Joyce Wood. A graveside memorial will be held in celebration of Mr. Brook's life at a later date at Briley Township Cemetery; Atlanta, Michigan.
