Lavina Grant

Lavina Elizabeth Grant Lavina Elizabeth Grant, 84, of Hillman, MI, passed away at Northern Michigan Hospital in Petoskey on Sunday, March 22, 2009. She was born on September 9, 1924 to James and Mattie (Essner) Albright in Alpena, MI. She lived most of her life in the Hillman area. She was a member of the Hillman Free Methodist Church and the Hillman VFW Ladies Auxiliary. She was an avid knitter and quilter and loved to bird watch. She enjoyed reading her Bible. Lavina is survived by her daughters, Onalee (Darrell) Hurd of Flint, MI; Connie (Rodney) Melius of Farwell, MI, and Rhoda (Doug Dowling) Robinson of Hillman, MI; numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren; sister, Betty Beck of Grayling, MI; and brother Bill (Margaret) Albright of Alpena, MI. She was preceded in death by her son, Rolan Robinson; and a brother Ezra Albright. Funeral services for Mrs. Grant will be held on Thursday, March 26, 2009 at 11:00 AM at the Green Funeral Home, Hillman, MI, Pastor Robert Coen officiating. Visitation hours will be held on Wednesday from 4-8 PM at the funeral home. Interment will take place at Hillman Rust Twp Cemetery.
