Lauri Jane Jimkoski

Mrs. Lauri Jane Jimkoski, 59, passed away at MyMichigan Medical Center Alpena with her devoted husband of 30 years by her side on May 3, 2024. She was the oldest daughter to Diane and the former Edward Maechtle and was born on July 16, 1964. Lauri married the love of her life, Dave Jimkoski on July 17, 1994.  

 A graduate of Atlanta High School class of 82, she loved being an Atlanta Huskie cheerleader.  She worked at Montmorency County Courthouse for 20 years and was very dedicated to her job and work family. Lauri loved to camp, travel, play pool in her league, dance at any opportunity, and she was what her family and friends considered to be a master chef, as well as a champion of cornhole. She was the strength and support of her family and the glue that held them together. More than anything, she adored her family and friends, and her love was treasured by all.  

 Lauri is survived by her loving husband, Dave Jimkoski; daughter, Shaunda Jimkoski; grandson, Bryan Sanderson; mother, Diane (Al) Cornett; brother, Jeff (Julie) Maecthtle; sister, Julie (Fred) Blakley; sister, Terri (Jeff) Carroll and many nieces, nephews, and other extended family.  

 In accordance with her wishes cremation has taken place. Mass of Christian Burial will take place on Monday, May 13, 2024 at 11:00 AM at Jesus the Good Shepherd Catholic Church, Fr. Jim Siler officiating. Visitation will begin at 10:00 AM until time of service with a luncheon following at the Atlanta Eagles. In lieu of flowers donations can be made in Lauri's honor to St Jude.
