Kenneth Gerald Kolp Kenneth Gerald Kolp, 75, of Atlanta, passed away at his home on October 2, 2006 after a courageous battle against cancer. He was born on May 21, 1931 to the late August and Angeline (Marchand) Kolp in Detroit, MI. He married the former Fleda White on August 17, 1968 in Mt Clemens, MI. Ken and his family moved to Gaylanta Lake after his retirement from the telephone company in 1984 from Detroit. He was a member of the Atlanta Eagles 4077 and the Lewiston Moose 2495. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and NASCAR. He always looked forward to spending the winters in florida with his wife. Above all else, he loved to be surrounded by his family.
Ken is survived by his wife of 38 years, Fleda of Atlanta, MI; three sons, Kenneth (Betty) of Richmond, MI, Michael (Lisa) of Riley, MI, and Keith (Sandy) of Elmira, MI; three daughters, Susan (Tom) Gornowicz of Snover, MI, Debra (Tony) Vadalabene of E. Berne, NY, and Lisa (Bob) Matott of Westerlo, NY; 17 granchildren; 13 great grandchildren; brother, Calvin (Gay) Kolp of Atlanta, MI; sister, Lyle (Bill) Daudlin of Sterling Heights, MI; many nieces and nephews; and a host of friends.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, October 6, 2006 at 1:00 PM at the Green Funeral Home, Atlanta, MI, Fr Vianney Sipulski OFM officiating. Visitation hours will be held on Thursday from 1-8 PM at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, the family has suggested memorials to the Connor Kutschman Trust Fund for the on going medical needs of his great grandson Connor, or to Hospice of the Sunrise Shore; donations can be made in care of the Green Funeral Home, PO Box 201, Atlanta, MI 49709.
