Katherine C. Petre Mrs. Katherine C. Petre, 75 of Lewiston, Michigan died peacefully at Otsego Memorial Hospital in Gaylord, Michigan on May 26, 2016 with her loving husband, Bernard, at her side. She was born to the late, August and Ida (Lynch) Vanderhook of Cleveland, Ohio on July 30, 1940. She married Bernard in August of 1958 in Inkster and together the couple celebrated 57 years of marriage before her passing. The couple moved to Lewiston permanently in 1999, formerly of Dearborn having vacationed in Lewiston since 1974. Katherine enjoyed to watch television with anything ranging from soap operas to Jeopardy to old Western movies. She liked making blankets for her grandchildren, drawing, painting with watercolors, baking, and she loved to laugh. Above everything she enjoyed her time spent with family and friends and will be dearly missed. She is survived by her loving husband, Bernard Petre of Lewiston; daughter, Judith Lee Petre-Jackson of Carlton; son, Bernard Timothy Petre II of Sandusky; grandchildren, Robert (Shaunna) Jackson; Jeremiah (Tennille) Jackson; Chris (Ashley) Marx; Bernie Marx; great-grandchildren, Anthony Jackson; Jonathan Jackson; Justin Stroupe; Abigail Jackson; Alivia Jackson; Alannah Jackson; Emma Jackson; Jake Jackson; Alex Jackson; Colton Marx; Savannah Marx; and one great-grandson on the way. She was preceded in death by her parents, August and Ida Vanderhook. As were her wishes, cremation has taken place and there are currently no services scheduled for Mrs. Petre at this time.
