June Newton June Newton, 84, of Hillman, MI, passed away on Saturday, March 13, 2010 at Back Home Adult Foster Care Home in Lachine, MI. She was born on June 5, 1925 to Ether and Ella (Moore) Hunt in Hillman, MI. She married John D Newton on November 28, 1942 in Ann Arbor, MI. She lived most of her life in the Hillman area. She sold Avon for many years and served as the Postmaster at the Lachine Post Office for 25 yrs. June enjoyed sewing and cooking. She loved her flower gardens. June is survived by her husband, John, of Hillman, MI; daughters, Diane (Dennis) Schlak of Gaylord, MI, and Vera Schultz of Hillman, MI; 5 grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren; brother, Arthur (Rosemary) Hunt of Hillman, MI; and sister, Kathleen Klein of Waterford, MI. She was preceded in death by a brother, Kenneth Hunt; and sisters, Helen Fisher, Hazel Williams, Shirley Newton, Edna Ross, and Marian Sheilds. Funeral services for Mrs Newton will be held on Tuesday, March 16, 2010 at 1:30 PM at the Green Funeral Home, Hillman, MI, Rev Donald Derby officiating. Visitation hours will be held on Monday from 5-8 PM and again on Tuesday form 12:30 PM until time of service at the funeral home. Interment will take place in the Spring at Hillman/Rust Twp Cemetery.
