Judith Mary Yerkey Mrs. Judith Mary Yerkey, 73 of Lewiston, Michigan passed away on August 31, 2013 at Sanctuary at the Abbey in Warren. She was born to the late Arthur and Rebecca (Smith) Veasy in Detroit, Michigan on August 24, 1940. Before having a family of her own, she worked as an x-ray technician for several years, then went back to work as a librarian at Beacon Elementary School in Harper Woods. She then went on to work for the DNR as a Paragon Falcon Coordinator for the southeast Michigan region. She was a DNR Grantee from 1989-2003. Judith was also a member of the Audobon Society and was honored by them for her contributions in bringing back Paragon Falcons. She enjoyed writing children's stories and poetry, sketching, painting, and photography. Above everything, she enjoyed her time spent with family and will be missed dearly. She is survived by son, Robert (Keri) Yerkey of Warren; daughter, Rebecca (Michael) Hageman of Redford; grandchildren, Brianna and Meaghan. She was preceded in death by her husband, Paul Yerkey. As were her wishes, there are no services planned at this time. Internment will take place at Hillman/Rust Township Cemetery where she will be buried next to her husband, Paul.
