Joseph D. Phillips 88 of Hillman, passed away on October 1, 2024. He was born in Detroit on June 15, 1936 to John and Helen (Dupie) Phillips. He grew up in St. Clair Shores. He worked for Cross Co. and then he worked as the supervisor of maintenance at Chevrolet Gear and Axel in Hamtramck. Joe enjoyed hunting, fishing, trap and skeet shooting. He was a member of the PK Fletcher Gun Club. While living in Sterling Heights, he belonged to the Detroit Sportsmen’s Congress and the Warren Flying Club.

He is preceded in death by his brothers, John, Brian, and his sister, Jeanette. He is survived by his wife, Sharon (Masiak), son, Steve, (Nancy) Permalof; and grandsons, Kyle and Devin; many loving cousins, nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, and great-great nieces and great-great nephews.

As per Joe’s wishes he was cremated and did not wish to be viewed. A memorial service will be held in the Spring.
