Joseph Lawrence Joseph Lawrence, 87, of Hillman, MI, passed away on Friday, July 27, 2012 at Medilodge in Hillman. He was born on February 2, 1925. He married the former Loretta Sinacola on May 5, 1950 in Berkley, MI. Joseph served his country in the US Navy active duty for 4 years, then retiring from the naval reserves after 20+ yrs. He also worked for many years at the Chrysler Proving Grounds in Clarkston, and after retiring from there went to work for Detroit Edison for another 10 years. He was a member of the St Augustine Catholic Church, the Knights of Columbus, and also the Hillman VFW Post 2356. He loved to tinker with anything mechanical and could do just about anything. Joseph also loved to travel, he always wanted to go any place and every place. Joseph is survived by his wife, Loretta; son, David (Martina) Lawrence of Wayne, MI; daughter, Laura (Michael) Schweizer of Hillman, MI; grandson, Eric (Isabell) Cude of El Paso, TX, and great granddaughter, Lilia. As were her wishes, cremation has taken place and there will be a memorial mass for Mr Lawrence held on Sunday, July 29, 2012 at 1:00 PM at St Augustine Catholic Church in Hillman, MI, Fr Rolando Silva officiating.
