Joseph Anderson Mr. Joseph Anderson, 83 of Atlanta, Michigan died peacefully on November 11, 2017 at Otsego Memorial Hospital in Gaylord. He was born on June 26, 1934 in Trenton, Michigan to the late, Joseph and Lillian (Griffith) Anderson. He served his country proudly as a veteran in the United States Navy serving between 1952-1953 during the Korean War. Joe married his loving wife, Donna (Jones) Anderson in Rockwood, Michigan on January 22, 1966 and together the couple celebrated 51 years of marriage before his passing. Having lived in Atlanta from 1981 to 1986, the couple moved here permanently in 1998. Joe worked as the superintendent of grounds keeping at the Grosse Isle Golf and Country Club and the West Shore Golf and Country Club for 32 years retiring in 1983. Aside from work, Joe enjoyed a variety of hobbies. He was a hunter and loved woodworking. He built anything from shelves to bird feeders and dressers. He enjoyed plowing snow in the winter months and adored the time he spent with his family. His children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren were absolutely number one to him. Joe will be dearly missed. He is survived by his loving wife, Donna Anderson of Atlanta; sons, Joe (Theresa) Anderson of South Rockwood; Claude Anderson of Newport; Bobby Anderson of Gaylord; daughters, Marty Anderson of Owensboro, Kentucky; Carol Flesher of Livonia; Norma Jean Kucharek of Atlanta; 23 grandchildren; 36 great-grandchildren; brother, Butch (Sherrill) Anderson of Hillman; and his dog, Punky. He was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph and Lillian Anderson; daughter, Judy Wolfe; and sister, Joan Martindale. As were his wishes, cremation has taken place. A memorial will be held in celebration of his life at 11:00AM on Saturday, November 18, 2017 at the Atlanta Congregational Church.
