John Lovelady Jr.

John Melvin Lovelady Jr. Mr. John Melvin Lovelady Jr, 64 of Hillman, Michigan died peacefully at Alpena Regional Medical Center on March 26, 2018. He was born in Flint, Michigan on December 31, 1953 to the late, John and Emily (Squires) Lovelady Sr. He married his wife, Sharon (Ewing) Lovelady in Hillman on June 2, 1986 and together the couple celebrated 31 years of marriage before his passing. The couple moved to Hillman in the early 1980's, formerly of Flint. John drove truck for both Crawford's and DHT Trucking in the Hillman area for many years. He enjoyed tinkering with small engines in his garage and hunting. His family was important to him and he was always involved with the children's sports growing up and attended all the games that he could. He will be dearly missed. He is survived by his loving wife, Sharon Lovelady of Hillman; sons, John Lovelady III of Hillman; Timothy Lovelady of Hillman; Richard Lovelady of Watford, North Dakota; grandson, Grayson John Lovelady; brothers, Howard (Eva) Lovelady of Florida; Richard (Jeannie) Lovelady of Alpena; and sister, Shirley Haggard of Flint. He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Emily Lovelady; and son, Matthew. Funeral services for Mr. Lovelady will be held at 11:00AM on Friday, March 30, 2018 at Green Funeral Home, Hillman; Pastor Mark Ryan officiating. Visitation will take place on Thursday from 4:00PM until 8:00PM and again on Friday from 10:00AM until time of service.
