John L. Hodgson John L. Hodgson, age 92, of Atlanta, MI and Sarasota, FL, passed away on Christmas morning at Medilodge Nursing Home in Hillman. He was born in Port Huron, MI on December 22, 1917 to Albert and Marieze (Shortt) Hodgson. He was a resident of Canada Creek Ranch in Atlanta since 1976, a member since 1960, and a seasonal resident of Sarasota since 1983. He retired in 1976 as a shift supervisor at Detroit Edison's Delray power plant. He was an army veteran of World War II, a mason, and a Methodist. He had been a loving and caring foster father to newborns and toddlers for many years. John is survived by his wife, Betty of 58 yrs; son, John (Elena) Hodgson Jr of Trenton, MI; daughter, Laura (James) Paulson of Farmington Hills, MI; and grandchildren, Matthew, John III, Michael, Nicholas, and Jennifer and her mom, Burdean Goleski. He was preceded in death by his parents, sisters, Ida (John) Long and Evelyn (Harry) Long; and a grandson, Jonathon. As were his wishes, cremation has taken place and there are no services for Mr Hodgson planned at this time
