John Joseph Head John Joseph Head, 88, of Atlanta, MI passed away on November 24, 2012 at Otsego Memorial Hospital. He was born on July 20, 1924 in Baraga, MI. John married the former Shirley Wilczewski on September 28, 1962. He served his country during WWII in the US Army, earning two bronze stars and a purple heart for his actions there. He worked at Ford Motor Company for a few years before moving north and working in the woods for many years. He was a self taught man, even though he had little formal education, he taught himself everything from handwriting to arithmetic. He loved to work word puzzles, and truly enjoyed being outside, especially deer hunting. John is survived by his wife, Shirley of Atlanta, MI; sons, James (Michele) Head of Detroit, MI, and Robert (Diane Foster) Head of NV; daughter, Barbara Head of Lewiston, MI; 7 grandchildren; and 8 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a son, Joe. As were his wishes, cremation has taken place and there are no services for Mr. Head planned at this time.
