John Cordes

John Cordes John Cordes, 48, of Hillman, passed away on August 6, 2009 at home, surrounded by family and friends after a two and a half year battle with cancer. He was born on October 28, 1960 to Arthur and Rosalie (Edgar) Cordes in Alpena, MI. He graduated from Hillman High School in 1979. He worked for Sauers Dairy Farm for 34 yrs. He was a member of St Johns Lutheran Church. John enjoyed the outdoors, especially farming, hunting, fishing, and camping. He liked to watch NASCAr, play darts, and shoot pool. Above all else, he loved his time with family and friends. John is survived by his mother, Rosalie Cordes of Hillman, MI; brothers, David Cordes of Edwardsville, PA, and William (Marilyn) Cordes of Hillman; sisters, Connie (Roger Andrzejewski) Williams and Peggy (Kenneth) Parent of Hillman; numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins, and the extended families of Elsie Sauer and Bob and Dixie Havermahl. He was preceded in death by his father, Arthur; and sister Suzanne Finley. Funeral services for Mr Cordes will be held Saturday at 11:00 AM at St Johns Lutheran Church in Hillman, Pastor Jason Mandley officiating. Interment will take place at St Johns Lutheran Cemetery.
