Jean Volkman

Jean Laura Volkman Jean Laura Volkman, 76, of Lewiston, passed away on January 13, 2011 at her residence. She was born on December 6, 1934 to Elzear and Bernardine (Kramer) Benoit in Detroit, MI. She has lived in Lewiston for he past 14yrs, formerly of St Clair Shores, MI. She attended St Francis of Assisi Catholic Church in Lewiston. She loved to play in the dirt and was a master gardener, certified through MSU in Macomb Co. She was an avid baker, especially of homemade bread. She also enjoyed to go fishing and in her younger years, riding motorcycles with her husband. Jean is survived by her husband, Paul, of Lewiston, MI; sons, Robert (Roseanne) Kite of St Clair Shores, MI; daughters, Corrine Kenney of Warren, MI, and Pamela (Ric) Splocharski of Shelby Twp, MI; 8 grandchildren; and a brother, Donald (Gloria) Benoit of St Clair Shores, MI. She was preceded in death by a son, Kevin. As were her wishes, cremation has taken place and there are no services for Mrs. Volkmann planned at this time.
