Janet Covington

Mrs. Janet Irene Covington, 77 of Hillman, Michigan died suddenly at her home on April 16, 2020. She was born in Pontiac, Michigan on October 19, 1942 to the late, Jack Colpus and June Terry. She has resided in Hillman for the last 48 years. Jan worked at Wayne Wire in Hillman for 13 years and was a past member of the Lioness Club. She enjoyed crafts and cooking, especially at the hunting club. She also adored her dog, Coby. She was a pillar to her community and a shining light in the lives she touched. She was known to many as Grandma Jan and she will be deeply missed.

Jan is survived by her daughter, Kasey (Jeff Kukla) Shiffer of Lewiston; grandson, Caleb; sister, Jackie Kester of Pontiac; niece, Debbie Atchison of Pontiac; nephew, Rusty (Angie) Denihan of Waterford; numerous great-nieces and great-nephews; special friends, Debbie Boldrey and Denna Welsh; and many numerous others. She was preceded in death by her parents, Jack Colpus and June Terry; and grandson, Chase Covington.

In accordance with her wishes cremation has taken place. The family has chosen to remember Jan privately at this time.
