James Edward Winterlee Mr. James Edward Winterlee, 77 of Lewiston, Michigan passed away on June 3, 2013 at his home surrounded by loving family. He was born to the late, Elmer and Lucille (Koon) Winterlee in Mt. Morris, Michigan on March 26, 1936. On February 20, 1955 he married Esther Converse in Oceanside, California and they remained together for fifty-eight years, raising a family of four. James was a veteran of the United States Marines and proudly served his country. He has lived in Lewiston since 1986, formerly of Mt. Morris. He retired from Chevrolet after 30 years where he worked as a die setter, truck driver, and welder, among other jobs. He was a member of the American Legion and the Lewiston Moose. James was an avid bowler and golfer and liked to play poker with friends. He used to love to hunt and fish and rode with the Michigan Trail Riders on horseback for years. Above everything, James enjoyed his time spent with family and friends and will be missed dearly by all who knew him. He is survived by his loving wife, Esther Winterlee of Lewiston; son, Russell (Tracey Dukes) Winterlee of Mt. Morris; daughters, Denise (Gene) Dikeman of Lewiston; Vickie (Perry Papendick) Nichols of Grayling; Jamie (Harold) Blandford of Mt. Morris; 13 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; brothers, Herb (Jan) Winterlee of Millington; Jeff (Caroline) Winterlee of Mt. Morris; sisters, Carol (Richard) Thompson of Flint; and Stephanie (Larry) Lee of Garden. He was preceded in death by his parents, Elmer and Lucille Winterlee and grandson, Scott Lee. As were his wishes, cremation has taken place and there will be a memorial held in celebration of his life at a later date.
