James Howard Williams Mr. James Howard Williams, 85 of Lewiston, Michigan passed away at Otsego Memorial Hospital in Gaylord on October 26, 2014. He was born to the late, Elmer and Bernice (Smith) Williams in Detroit, Michigan on November 28, 1928. James was a proud veteran and served his country in the United States Navy during World War II. In Hazel Park on February 26, 1949 he married wife, Lois (Ervin) Williams and together the couple celebrated 65 years of marriage before his passing. He retired from the Ford Motor Company after 31 years of service. The couple moved to Lewiston in 1980, formerly of Madison Heights. James was a member of the UAW and past member of the VFW Post #6335 of Lewiston. He loved being up north and enjoyed life to its fullest, bringing laughter to everything. He was an avid fisherman, hunter, and snowmobiler. He also enjoyed woodworking and cabinet making. Above everything, James enjoyed his time spent with family and friends and will be dearly missed. He is survived by his loving wife, Lois Williams of Lewiston; daughters, Chris Williams of Dearborn; Jan (Jim) Chaffee of Royal Oak; and sister, Pat (Dick) Schooley of Lake City. He was preceded in death by his parents, Elmer and Bernice Williams; brothers, Dick and Jack; and sisters, Maxine and Geraldine. As were his wishes, cremation has taken place and there are no services planned for Mr. Williams at this time.
