James Wicks Sr

Mr. James “Danny” Daniel Wicks Sr, 77 of Atlanta, Michigan died suddenly at his home on February 15, 2022. He was born in Hillman, Michigan on January 10, 1945 to the late, James Everest and Mary Evelyn (Brown) Wicks. He served his country proudly in the United States Navy during the Vietnam War as a radioman and was skilled in morse code. He was a lifetime member of the VFW Post #2356. Danny loved music and played the guitar and sang in his band, Wicks and Company, for the last 16 years. He was a skilled carpenter and enjoyed fishing, hunting, and crossword puzzles. He will be missed.

Danny is survived by his sons, Jason Wicks of Hillman; James Daniel (Shannon) Wicks Jr of Sidney, Montana; grandchildren, Hunter Wicks and Jaimi Rae Wicks; sisters, Susie (Bobby) Clink; and Janice (Mike) Kelly both of Lima, Ohio. He was preceded in death by his parents, James and Mary Wicks; wife, Michelle; and brothers, Jeff and Oscar.

Cremation has taken place and there will be a memorial service held from 1:00 PM until 3:00 PM in celebration of Danny’s life on Saturday, February 26, 2022 at the VFW Post #2356, Hillman. Danny will be buried at Hillman Rust Township Cemetery in the Spring.
