James Sipe

James Allen Sipe Mr. James Allen Sipe, 81 of Atlanta, Michigan died peacefully on November 27, 2016 at Tendercare of Alpena. He was born to the late, Carl and Cynthia Sipe on March 8, 1935 in Indiana. He moved to Atlanta in 1979, formerly of Montpelier, Ohio. He attended the Atlanta Congregational Church and was the township clerk for Briley Township for many years. Jim was active in the Atlanta Eagles where he served as both a charter member and treasurer for several years. He enjoyed hunting and was a member of the Lucky 13 Club and the Rod and Gun Club. Jim loved the outdoors and time spent at the lake. He often enjoyed berry picking, mushroom picking, and playing a round of golf. He also owned and operated Point Bait in Atlanta with stepson, Dave. Above everything, Jim enjoyed the time he spent with friends and family and will be dearly missed. He is survived by his sons, Craig (Nancy) Sipe of Charleston, West Virginia; Curtis (Kelli) Sipe of Cookesville, Tennessee; daughter, Charlotte (Tony) Blad of Mount Airy, North Carolina; nine grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; stepchildren, Denny (Jone) Guest of Atlanta; Dave (Mary Jo) Guest of Atlanta; Tim (Laura) Guest of Wasilla, Alaska; and Julie Kendrick of Atlanta. He was preceded in death by his parents, Carl and Cynthia Sipe; wife, Claudine; and daughter, Cynthia. A memorial service will be held in celebration of his life at 1:00PM on Thursday, December 1, 2016 at Green Funeral Home; Atlanta; Pastor Ginny Titus officiating. Visitation will take place from noon until time of service.
