James Edward Williams James Edward Williams, 54, of Hillman, MI, passed away on August 1, 2009 at his residence. He was born on September 12, 1955 to Ervin and Shirley (Crooks) Williams in Detroit, MI. He has lived in Hillman since 1990 formerly of Fenton, MI. He worked as a heavy equipment operator for many years for Try City Aggregate, before being paralyzed as a result of an automobile accident. He is a member of the Operating Engineers Local 324, Livonia, MI. He enjoyed participating in wheelchair races across the state and then helping his friend, Dennis Heppner train dogs to push others in wheelchairs. Even with his disability, he still found ways to run an excavator to help others in landscaping jobs. He loved woodcrafting and family get togethers. Jim is survived by his sons, Mark Williams of Hillman, MI, and Brad Martindale of Bloomington, IL; granddaughter, Destiny; father, Ervin Williams of Hillman, MI; and sisters, Kathy (Tom) Davis of Burton, MI, and Brenda Johnson of Alpena, MI. He was preceded in death by his mother, Shirley, and sister Nancy Keller. As were his wishes, cremation has taken place and there are no services for Mr Williams planned at this time.
