Mr. James Carey Long, 64 of Atlanta, Michigan died peacefully at his home on April 29, 2019. He was born in Tecumseh, Michigan on June 5, 1954 to the late, Ralph and Martha (Neilly) Long. He has resided in Atlanta since 2005, formerly of Toledo where he retired from the Jeep Plant after 28 years. James enjoyed fishing and hunting, and collecting rocks and agates that he used in his yard. He enjoyed politics and keeping up on things going on in the world. He adored his lab, C.J. Wrangler and time spent with family. He will be dearly missed.
He is survived by his loving companion, Julie Burnham of Atlanta; sisters, Sharon Stone of Dundee; Barbara Long of Arizona; Kathy Fiser of Boulder, Colorado; Nancy Braun of Rogers City; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Ralph and Martha Long; and sister, Joanne Keilman.
As were his wishes cremation has taken place. The family has chosen to remember James privately at this time.
