Jack Earl Smith Jack Earl Smith, 75 of Hillman, MI, passed away on Sunday, September 18, 2011 in Tawas, MI at his brothers home. He was born on December 19, 1935 to Russell and Loretta (Eagle) Smith in Rust Twp, MI. He married the former Marlene Casterton on June 30, 1957 in Howell, MI. Jack worked for years at Refrigeration Research running a production line. He was also the caretaker for Miller Creek Hunting Club for over 35 years. He loved the outdoors, especially fishing with his late wife, Marlene. Jack is survived by his brothers, Gary (Gayle) Smith of Tawas, MI, and Bill (Ann) Smith of Hillman, MI; sister, Patricia Purdy of Alpena, MI; sister in law, Joann Smith of Hillman, MI; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife, Marlene and brothers, Bucky and Ken. Funeral services for Mr Smith will be held on Wednesday, September 21, 2011 at 11:00 AM at the Green Funeral Home, Hillman, MI, Pastor Robert Coen officiating. Interment will take place at Hillman Rust Twp Cemetery. Visitation hours will be held on Tuesday from 4-8 PM and Wednesday morning from 10:00AM until time of services at the funeral home.
