Ivan F. Deford Ivan Fred Deford, of Grand Blanc, MI, formerly of Atlanta, passed away on Saturday, March 1, 2008 at Durand Senior Care and Rehab Center. He was born on August 12, 1913 to Fred and Carrie (Whiting) Deford in Clayton Twp, MI. He worked for the City of Flint in road construction for 36 yrs, retiring in 1972. He moved to Atlanta in 1973 from Flint, returning a few years ago to Grand Blanc to be closer to his children. He was a veteran of the US Army during WWII, and also a life member of the VFW Post 9489 in Atlanta, MI. Ivan is survived by his son Ronald (Cindy) Deford of Flint, MI; daughter, Marlene (Allan) Cox of Swartz Creek, MI; 6 grandchildren; and 4 great grandchildren. As were his wishes, cremation has taken place and there are no services planned at this time. Interment services will be held in the spring at Briley Twp Cemetery.
