Mrs. Irwana Bernice Ray, 80 of Hillman, Michigan died peacefully at her home on February 16, 2025. She was welcomed into Heaven with outstretched arms by her late husband, Gary. Irwana was born on October 13, 1944 to Edward and Marcille (Miller) Gabel. She has resided in Hillman since 2008 in the home that Gary built. She was a member of Hillman United Methodist Church. Irwana was very community involved, and she enjoyed participating in fundraisers, assisting with the food bank at New Beginnings Ministries, and was known for her chocolate chip and molasses cookies at bake sales. She quietly went above and beyond to help those that needed help. Honduras held a place dear to her heart where she did mission trips and sponsored a child. She loved her morning devotionals, baking, and crafting. Her home could be found decorated for any and all occasions. She also loved accessories and took pride in matching her purses and jewelry to the outfits she wore. More importantly, she loved her time spent with family. She is and will be deeply missed.
Irwana is remembered by her daughter, Karen Ray of Clio; grandchildren, Reighlynn, Haven, Serenity, Andrew, Jenna; brothers, Perry Gabel and family; Joe Gabel and family; and many close friends who were like family. She was preceded in death by her parents, Edward and Marcille Gabel; husband, Gary; and sister, Lolly.
In accordance with her wishes cremation has taken place. The family has chosen to remember Irwana privately at this time.
