Iris Lapointe

Iris L. LaPointe Mrs. Iris L. LaPointe, 89, of Lewiston, MI, passed away on June 26, 2014 at Wellspring Lutheran Services in Fairview, MI. She was born on March 23, 1925 to Charles and Mary (Liganese) Matt in River Rouge, MI. She has lived in Lewiston since 2007, formerly of Atlanta, MI. She was a member of St Francis Catholic Church. Years ago, she enjoyed making ceramics and loved to dance. She enjoyed taking walks and was know for knitting slippers and scarves that she gave to countless people over the years. More than anything in the world, she loved her family. Iris is survived by her sons, Bill (Mary-Jo) LaPointe of Johannesburg, MI and John LaPointe of Gaylord, MI; duahgter, Dorothy Ann (Philip) Smith of Johannesburg; 5 grandchildren; 8 great grandchildren; and 1 great great grandson. She was preceded in death by her husband, Hector LaPointe; brothers, Donald, Otis, and Edward; and sisters, Edna, Dorothy, and Marian. Mass of Christian Burial for Mrs LaPointe will be held on Tuesday, July 1, 2014 at the St Francis Catholic Church, Father Santiago Hoyumpa officiating. Interment will take place at Maple Ridge Cemetery in Alger, MI.
