Homer John Valentine Homer John Valentine Jr, 76, of Atlanta, MI, passed away at his residence on Nov. 27, 2011. He was born on Dec. 6, 1934 to Homer and Ida (Canfield) Valentine in Atlanta, MI, and spent most of his life here. He worked as a truck driver for over 35 years. Homer was a member of the Atlanta Eagles 4077, and was an avid reader, especially enjoying books about American History and the Old West. He enjoyed both hunting and fishing as well. Homer is survived by his companion, Janie Hannon of Atlanta, MI; sons, Kevin and Keith (Nicole) Valentine, both of Evansville, IN; daughters, Kathy Valentine of Chrisney, IN and Karen (Keith) Valentine of Evansville, IN; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren; brothers, Richard (Elaine) and Jack Valentine, both of Atlanta, MI; and sisters, Barbra (Jerry) Hicks of Gaylord, MI, and Virginia Nichols of Memphis, TN. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Kimberly Mave and sister, Ila. As were his wishes, Mr. Valentine has been cremated and there are no services planned at this time.
