Herbert Andrew Moeller Herbert Andrew Moeller, 83, of Lewiston, passed away at his residence on October 16, 2008. He was born on February 6, 1925 in Detroit, MI to Herbert and Alma (Frey) Moeller. He married Jean Parrott on May 5, 1945 in Warren, MI. Herbert served his country during WWII in the US Army as a Surgical Tech. He was awarded a Purple Heart, 2 Oak Leaf Clusters, EAME Theater Ribbon w/3 bronze stars, American Theatre Ribbon, Good Conduct Ribbon, and a World War II Victory Medal, and served in the Battles of Normandy, Northern France, and Rhineland. He retired from General Motors where he worked for many years in security. He was a member of the Lewiston Congregation of the United Church of Christ, the DAV, and the Lewiston and Warren Historical Societies. He was a past member of the Lewiston VFW Post. He enjoyed bowling, horse shoes, baseball, and was an avid card player. He enjoyed traveling, especially driving on mystery trips with his family. Above all else, Herbert loved to be with his family. Herbert is survived by his wife, Jean; sons, Rick (Christina) of Florida, Tim of Tennessee, and Matt of Michigan; daughters, Andrea Heacock, Garre (Harold) Croswell, Lynn (Jeff) Miller, and Amy (Joe) Stiles, all of Michigan, and Kathy Hobbs of Florida; 16 grandchildren; 9 great grandchildren; one great great grandson; and a brother, Richard (Anne) Moeller of Arizona. Funeral services will be held on Monday, October 20, 2008 at 11:00 AM at the Green Funeral Home, Lewiston, MI, Pastor Toby Stadden officiating. Visitation hours will be held at Green's on Sunday from 4-7 PM and again on Monday from 10:00AM until time of service. Interment services will be held at the Old Chapel at Clinton Grove Cemetery in Mount Clemens on Friday, October 24, 2008 at 10:30 AM. The family has suggested memorials to the Disabled American Veterans or to the Lewiston Congregation of the United Church of Christ Church.
