Henry Newburry Sr.

Henry Allen Newburry Sr. Mr. Henry Allen Newburry Sr., 75 of Atlanta, Michigan died peacefully at Alpena Regional Medical Center on April 15, 2018. He was born on August 10, 1942 in Cornell, Wisconsin to the late, Henry and Anna (Johnson) Newburry. He served his country proudly in the United States Navy. He married his wife, Susan (Morgan) Newburry on July 27, 1959 and together the couple celebrated 45+ years of marriage before her passing in 2006. Formerly of Kaleva, Michigan, Henry has resided in Atlanta for the last year and a half. He worked as a maintenance supervisor for Little River Casino for 12 years retiring in 2016. Prior to his work there he worked in resort maintenance in Traverse City for many years. Aside from working, Henry enjoyed a variety of hobbies. He loved to go two-tracking, fishing, hunting, camping, hiking, and anything that brought him outdoors. He loved to be outside. His family and grandchildren were very important to him and he cherished the time he spent with them. He will be dearly missed. He is survived by his sons, Henry (Denise) Newburry of Atlanta; Steven Newburry of Mendon; daughters, Christine Newburry; Shelley Newburry both of Galesburg; 16 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and brother, Frank Newburry of Portage. He was preceded in death by his parents, Henry and Anna Newburry; wife, Susan; and nine brothers and sisters. As were his wishes, cremation has taken place and there will be a memorial held in celebration of his life at a later date.
