Grady Alsobrooks Jr. Mr. Grady Alsobrooks Jr., 92 of Lewiston, passed peacefully at home with his family at his side on June 21, 2017. He was born in Detroit, Michigan on May 16, 1925 the son of the late, Grady and Daisy (Martin) Alsobrooks Sr. Grady served his country proudly in the United States Army during World War II and was injured by enemy shelling on the front lines of the European Theatre. Shortly after returning from war he married his loving wife, Dorothy (Reinke) Alsobrooks on July 3, 1946. He continued his service as a Detroit police officer where he later retired. Grady enjoyed fishing and spending time with his family. He will be dearly missed. He is survived by his loving wife of 71 years, Dorothy Alsobrooks of Lewiston; sons, Glen Alsobrooks of Lewiston; Ron (Phyllis) Alsobrooks of Temecula, California; Chris (Carol) Alsobrooks of Livonia; Mark (Tammy) Alsobrooks of Gaylord; daughter, Lynn (John) Meissner of Lewiston; ten grandchildren; fourteen great-grandchildren; four great-great grandchildren; brothers, Charles (Carol) Alsobrooks of Arizona; Carl (Bernie) Alsobrooks of Johannesburg; and sister, Carol Zoroya of Michigan. He was preceded in death by his parents, Grady and Daisy Alsobrooks; two siblings; and daughter-in-law, Mary Alsobrooks. As were his wishes cremation has taken place and there will be a family memorial service held in celebration of his life at a later date. In honor of Grady's memory, memorial contributions are suggested to Hospice of Michigan, 145 N. State St. Alpena, MI 49707.
