Gordon Nickert Sr.

Gordon Alden Nickert Sr. Mr. Gordon Alden Nickert Sr., of Lewiston, Michigan passed away on April 7, 2013 at Otsego Memorial Hospital in Gaylord, Michigan. He was born to Ernest and Theresa (Pruse) Nickert on November 16, 1935 in Detroit, Michigan. He has lived in Lewiston for over 40 years, formerly of the Detroit area. Gordon worked for Associated Truck Line for 38 years as a truck driver. He enjoyed hunting and playing darts and pool. He supported many charities over the years, including "Feed the Children." Above all, he enjoyed his time spent with family and friends. He is survived by sons, Jamie Nickert of Shelby Township; Jeff (Linda) Nickert of Grayling; Gordon Nickert Jr of Jackson; Michael (Sherry) Nickert of Lewiston; Karl (Michelle) Nickert of Lewiston; Jack Nickert of Oak Park; daughters, Kim Weiland of Lewiston; Denise (Danny) Roux of Lewiston; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren; sisters, Esther (Paul) Halfacre of Lincoln Park; and Audrey Zubke of Grosse Point. He was preceded in death by his parents, Ernest and Theresa Nickert; and daughter, Cheryl Nickert. As were his wishes, cremation has taken place and there will be a memorial held in celebration of his life at 2:00PM, Saturday, April 13, 2013 at Green Funeral Home, Lewiston, MI; Reverend Thomas Mammoser officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorials donations have been suggested to "Feed the Children" organization.
